Scientific Games Acquires Lightning Box
Kicking things off this week is Scientific Games who have completed their acquisition of Lightning Box. Lightning Box is an Australian games developer that has proved popular in the USA, with FanDuel, BetMGM, BetRivers, and Golden Nugget Casino stocking their games.
Under the deal, Lightning Box will continue to create games while benefiting from SG’s distribution channels and resources. The agreement comes as part of SG’s recent overhaul that has seen them sell off the lottery and sports betting divisions concentrating solely on the casino side of the industry.
SG Senior VP of Gaming said of the deal: “Lightning Box games are hugely popular with slot players around the world, and we’re excited to welcome them. […] Our strategy is a simple one: talented, passionate people make great games, and the addition of the Lightning Box team is another example of this and how we will continue to be the iGaming industry leader."

Caesars Entertainment Launches Stand-Alone Sportsbook After William Hill US Acquisition
Caesars Entertainment has launched a sportsbook using the Liberty Platform, which it acquired from the William Hill takeover earlier this year. The platform is already live in Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, New Jersey, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia, with plans to launch in Arizona, Maryland, and Louisiana once sports betting goes live.
