DraftKings Acquires Golden Nugget Online Gaming in Mega-Merger
This week DraftKings and GNOG have struck a deal that will see the company acquire 100% of Golden Nugget’s online division for a whopping $1.56bn. Subject to regulatory approval, the agreement is set to close in early 2022.
New York License Bidders Revealed
The New York Gaming Commission has revealed that FanDuel, Kambi, Bet365, Fox Bet, and theScore have all bid to be one of NYs only two platform providers when gambling goes live in the state.
Until now, the proposals have been sealed, and we still don’t know the financial details, but the New York Gaming Commission was clear from the outset they were looking for figures up from $25mil.
Rush Street Interactive Gets Together with Boom Entertainment
Online gambling operator Rush Street Interactive has this week invested in games developer Boom Entertainment. The deal will see Boom Entertainment integrate its casino game and sports products with Rush Street. The developer will also create exclusive content for RSI, which should be live at BetRivers and SugarHouse Casinos from next year.
Illinois Sets December Deadline for Sports Betting Applications
The Illinois Gaming Board has set a December 3rd deadline for three additional licensing applications from online-only sports betting operators. The winning bidders will have to pay the $20m licensing fee and then can launch.
The state has decided to allow for additional operators as it’s aiming to diversify the gambling outlook after falling revenues. The current leading sportsbooks in Illinois are Fanuel and DraftKings.
