Massachusetts Signs Sports Betting into Law
HB 5164 has been signed into force by the Massachusetts governor, Charlie Baker, this week. It permits any land-based casino or racetrack operator in the state to apply for a license with an additional seven online-only licenses that will also be available. Permits cost $5m, and online tax rates are 20%. The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will be the regulator, designating licenses and ensuring compliance.
